How to play Larkspur Farm

Larkspur Farm is a free, cosy 3D farming game you play in your browser: you clear an overgrown plot, grow ten kinds of crops, sell them through your shipping crate and make friends with the five villagers across the bridge. Your goal is to reopen the village's five empty market stalls, one by one, until the village holds its Harvest Fair.

Genre
Cosy 3D farming game
Players
One player
Length
A full day runs about 8 minutes, from 6 am to 2 am, and the clock stops while a menu or shop is open. The first stall can open within your first week; the Harvest Fair takes 25 in-game days at the very quickest, often more: a few hours of play.
Plays on
Phones, tablets and computers, in an up-to-date web browser (it needs WebGL). Play with a keyboard, a mouse or touch; a gamepad works for walking and farming, but menus and shops need one of the others.
Progress
Your farm saves itself as you play, in this browser on this device (browser storage). The save isn't sent anywhere, so it doesn't follow you to another browser or device, and clearing this site's data deletes it. Starting a new farm replaces the old one.
Price
Free. No download and no account.

How to play

  1. On the title screen, press Start your farm, type a name if you like, pick how your farmer looks and press Move in. A welcome letter from Otto, the market warden, tells you about the empty market: press Let's get growing.
  2. Your carrot seeds are already in your hand (slot 1). Walk to the dug row south of your house, press the action button on each square to plant, then press it again to water; the goal card near the top of the screen always says what to do next, and its Go button walks you there.
  3. Clear the field beside it: walk up to a weed, twig, stone, stump or boulder and press the action button, which picks the sickle, axe or pickaxe for you. On cleared ground the same button digs the soil, ready for more seeds.
  4. Cross the footbridge east to the village. Otto's market list is on the notice board by the well in the market square, and Mae's general store sells seeds.
  5. Water each crop once a day until it ripens, then harvest it with the same button. Put what you want to sell in the shipping crate by your door, and go to bed at your front door before 2 am.
  6. Overnight the carter pays for what's in the crate, and every crop you watered grows a day. The night summary also gives tomorrow's weather: on rainy days the rain waters your crops for you.
  7. Walk up to a market stall and give it the crops it asks for. Each stall you open brings something new (seeds at Mae's, sprinklers, a bigger watering can), and opening all five brings the Harvest Fair.

Tips

  • Of the four seeds Mae sells at first, lettuce pays best: 30 gold a seed and 70 gold at harvest, after 4 days. Buy in packs of five, which cost about 10% less than five single seeds.
  • Each stall's reward includes the seeds a later stall needs: beetroot from the Greengrocer for the Flower Cart, corn from the Flower Cart for the Baker's Table, and melons and pumpkins from the Baker's Table for the last two. Plant some of each new seed as soon as Mae stocks it.
  • Talk to each villager once a day and give one present: a chat plus a present they love adds a whole heart. Mae loves lettuce, Rosa loves wheat and Theo loves sweet peas and field mushrooms, and at two hearts every villager has a present for you (Mae's is beetroot seeds, Bram's a sprinkler).
  • Planting and harvesting cost no energy; digging, watering and clearing do, and stumps and boulders take several blows. When the bar runs low, eat a crop you're holding (a field mushroom gives 20, a carrot 12), and be in bed by 2 am, or you fall asleep in the field and wake with less energy.
  • Keep your wood and stone instead of shipping them for 2 gold each. Bram's forge makes a sprinkler, which waters the eight tiles around it every morning, for 20 stone, 10 wood and 200 gold, and the Harvest Table wants 20 wood: a stump gives 4 wood and a boulder 5 stone.
  • A few field mushrooms come up each morning on the grass around your farm, outside the field. Pick them up: the Baker's Table needs 2, Theo loves them and they sell for 40 gold.

Recent updates

Version 1.1.4 · October 10, 2026

  • Screen readers and voice control: the "See it" link on the card for our studio's apps now says what it shows (it was read as just the app's website, so saying "See it" didn't work).

Version 1.1.3 · October 6, 2026

  • Fixed: on a computer, after you clicked or tapped one of the game's buttons (a seed in your hotbar, Go, the map, the menu), the Space key could get stuck on that button. Space then picked the same seeds again, or walked you to your goal again, instead of planting or going to bed, until you clicked on the field. Now a click or a tap on a button always leaves Space for farming. If you move around the buttons with the Tab key, Space still presses the button you're on.
  • A walk to a villager you can't reach now stops where you can get to, instead of trying again and again.
